Period Gold aimed to disrupt societal norms, enabling individuals with periods to embrace their full selves throughout their menstrual cycles.

Our world is designed around men's 24-hour cycle, expecting consistent daily energy levels. This neglects the natural rhythms of menstrual cycles, making it hard for those with periods to be authentic. Period Gold aims to challenge these norms, fostering a more inclusive society by educating and empowering people with periods to live authentically, regardless of their cycle stage.

Empowering Menstrual Wellness with A PERSONALISED App

Period Gold redefined the menstrual cycle experience with a wellness app, offering personalised content and advice for inclusive cyclical well-being. It goes beyond bleeding periods to provide a friendly space for holistic health.

The app encourages users to track and understand their cycles, enhancing the menstrual experience while saving time and adding value by aligning cycles with weekly needs.

Discovery Across Borders

A remote Design Sprint kicked off the project, overcoming geographical distances between Period Gold HQ in Los Angeles and our design team in Barcelona. By identifying challenges, setting long-term goals, and addressing blockers, we crafted a holistic menstrual cycle experience that surpassed traditional trackers.

Streamlined User Experience

The focus on user experience aimed to streamline reproductive health tracking, requiring minimal data entries while maximising value. Recognising the need for information throughout the month, beyond just period weeks, the app curated and met diverse user needs based on the cyclical weekly nature. This design saved time and enhanced the overall well-being of individuals navigating their menstrual cycles.

Inclusive Brand Aesthetics

Period Gold hypothesised that a well-designed and inclusive look would appeal to its audience. They adopted an androgynous, lively colour palette with minimalist, earthy, and botanical tones. Irreverent illustrations and photos of natural textures and appetising foods made the branding visually engaging and approachable.

Intuitive User Interface

Crystal clear, minimalist design principles guided the user interface, highlighting essential information and features. Navigation and content layout were meticulously chosen and tested to ensure an intuitive, user-friendly app that emphasises ease of use for understanding menstrual cycles.

Through storytelling and cycle tracking, Period Gold illuminated the reality of menstrual cycles and helped users track for optimal health and happiness.

More than an app, Period Gold became a global movement advocating living in sync with one's biorhythm. It challenged societal norms based on men's cycles, promoting inclusivity and menstrual education.
